Proposal, Design approach and Materials
The modifications to 12 Chalsey Road update the property to meet contemporary living standards, catering to the needs of the family.
A single-story side extension, featuring a fully hipped roof, which has been carefully designed so as not to adversely affect neighbouring properties and to minimise it’s impact on the street view with no loss of soil / plants / greenery.
The new design provides the property with a utility room, wc and side entrance. The reconfiguration of the ground floor creates a better flow of the living area with direct access to the new utility room from the kitchen and direct access to the garden from utility room.
The repositioning of the WC from its current position, within the main floor plan of the ground floor, will allow the residents and guests to comfortably visit the restroom without being in direct line of the existing kitchen.
The extension planned is modest, however its impact is transformative to the arrangement and use of the back of the home.
